The police in Youxian, Hunan, cracked a USDT fraud case, where a group of three pretended to be "rich and beautiful women in the cryptocurrency circle" to steal cryptocurrency
ChainCatcher news, on the early morning of July 24, the Criminal Investigation Team of the Public Security Bureau of Youxian, Hunan successfully dismantled a USDT scam den, arresting three suspects: Tang, Zhang, and Xu.
Since April 2025, this gang had rented a residential house to set up their operation base. Using over 30 mobile phones, more than 10 computers, and foreign SIM cards, they fabricated the persona of "single overseas women in the cryptocurrency circle" on social platforms like "Tantan International Version" and Telegram, luring men over 26 years old from abroad into romantic relationships. They then induced victims to click on links containing Trojan viruses under the guise of "mining mechanisms" and "airdrop rewards," stealing USDT assets from their Trust wallets. The police seized a batch of equipment used in the crime on-site, and the three suspects have been criminally detained.
