ChainCatcher news, Bo Hines, the executive director of the White House Cryptocurrency Council, refused to disclose the number of bitcoins held by the U.S. government in the latest episode of the podcast. Previous reports indicated that the actual number of bitcoins held by the U.S. government may be far lower than the 200,000 estimated by former Trump cryptocurrency advisor David Sacks, with only 29,000 bitcoins.

Regarding the specific numbers, Hines stated that "we cannot discuss it at this time," but confirmed that the government plans to increase its bitcoin holdings through a "budget-neutral" approach. It is worth noting that due to differences in asset classification, only bitcoins that have completed judicial forfeiture can be counted as government assets, while bitcoins that are under seizure still face legal uncertainties.
