OpenAI's artificial intelligence model defeated Grok in a chess match
ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, OpenAI's o3 model defeated xAI's Grok 4 model with a score of 4:0 in the Google Kaggle AI chess exhibition match.
World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen assessed the playing level of both sides as equivalent to amateur beginners, with a rating of about 800 points. The competition rules required the AI models to play without specialized training, and only allowed 4 legal moves per turn; any violation would result in an immediate loss.
