Beisent: The possibility of the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates by 50 basis points has increased, and a rate cut may be initiated in September
ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi, U.S. Treasury Secretary Basant stated in an interview that the Federal Reserve's interest rates should be 150-175 basis points lower than they are now, believing that there is a high possibility of a 50 basis point rate cut, possibly starting in September.
He also mentioned that the Federal Reserve does not need to re-implement large-scale asset purchases (QE) and emphasized the need for reliable employment data. Analysts pointed out that the current likelihood of the Federal Reserve cutting rates by 50 basis points in September is almost zero and depends on the performance of the non-farm payroll report.
