Musk faces lawsuit over "million-dollar lottery" again
ChainCatcher News, a federal judge in the United States has ordered Musk to respond to a class-action lawsuit involving a "million-dollar lottery." Arizona voter Jacqueline McCafferty filed the class-action lawsuit as a representative, accusing Musk and the "American Political Action Committee" he created of misleading her into providing personal identification information during the late stages of the 2024 election.
She claims that Musk and the "American Political Action Committee" promised to randomly select a winner of the $1 million prize like a lottery, in order to entice voters in seven swing states to sign a petition. However, voters did not actually have a chance to claim the $1 million, and the information they submitted, such as names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers, was used for political data collection.
