ChainCatcher message, according to a post by Binance CEO Richard Teng, on August 26, 2025, the Binance team recently discovered a scam involving fake Binance customer service calls requesting users to change their API. Scammers use spoofed numbers or VoIP technology to contact users, claiming "Your Binance account may be at risk. We need to immediately adjust your API settings to ensure the safety of your funds."

Subsequently, the scammers initiate withdrawal operations using the newly obtained permissions, transferring cryptocurrency directly to wallets under their control. The information is based on official observations, and no specific number of cases has been disclosed.
