Federal Reserve's Barkin: If the economy runs moderately, interest rates are expected to adjust moderately
ChainCatcher news, according to Jin Shi reports, Federal Reserve's Barkin stated that given his expectation of little change in economic activity for the remainder of the year, interest rates will undergo a moderate adjustment. "I see the economy running moderately. If the economy runs moderately, that means interest rates will also adjust moderately," he said, "I'm not sure if the economy will really develop that moderately. We'll have to wait and see. So this is my prediction, but predictions can change."
Barkin declined to specify what actions he would lean towards supporting in September. "I know there are three and a half weeks until the next meeting, and I will make the best judgment I can on that day, based on all the information available."
