ChainCatcher news, according to cryptonews, South Korea has sentenced three accomplices related to V Global to three years in prison, with probation and five years of protective observation each, and imposed fines of 660 million won (approximately $474,000), 426 million won (approximately $306,000), and 259 million won (approximately $186,000) respectively. The court found that the three had attracted customers for the "disguised exchange" through multi-level marketing, helping to deceive about 50,000 investors, with an involved amount of approximately $1.4 billion.

In the ruling, the judge stated that the three "caused astronomical losses by exploiting the crypto asset boom," but also considered that some victims had received rebates, leading to the probation decision. Previously, the CEO of V Global had been sentenced to 25 years in prison by the South Korean Supreme Court in 2023 as the principal offender, while several other executives received prison sentences ranging from 14 years to 4 years.
