VanEck will meet with the SEC's cryptocurrency task force to discuss ETF tokenization and staking risks
ChainCatcher news, according to Nate Geraci, president of The ETF Store, global top ten ETF issuer VanEck held a meeting with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) crypto special working group. The agenda includes: discussing the applicability of the newly proposed generic listing standards for commodity and crypto ETFs to liquid staking tokens; studying liquidity risk policies and procedures for staking products; exploring the tokenization of private and registered funds, especially the impact of ETF tokenization and the role of issuers; reviewing VanEck's global exploration of tokenization; addressing decentralized finance and crypto asset regulation, including compliance issues related to security tokens and ICOs; and considering potential revisions to the custody rules under the Investment Advisers Act, such as using multi-party computation (MPC) software for the secure custody of digital assets.
