Ethereum core developers: The influence or threat of crypto venture capital Paradigm on ecosystem values

ChainCatcher news, recently, Ethereum core developer Federico Carrone issued a warning that the growing influence of the venture capital firm Paradigm on the Ethereum network could pose a potential risk to the ecosystem.

Carrone stated on social media that although Paradigm has created value for the community, its goals as a profit and influence-driven venture capital fund may not align with the philosophy and political ideals of Ethereum. Paradigm has gradually expanded its influence in the ecosystem by hiring key Ethereum researchers and funding open-source libraries that are critical to Ethereum. The company recently collaborated with fintech giant Stripe to incubate a competitive Layer-1 blockchain called Tempo, which is a stablecoin and payment-centric network, effectively controlled by Stripe, contrasting sharply with Ethereum's decentralized and open-source nature.
