BNB completed its 33rd quarterly burn, with a total burn amount of 1.208 billion USD

ChainCatcher news, according to the official announcement from the BNB Foundation, BNB Chain has successfully completed the 33rd quarterly BNB token burn. This burn totaled 1,441,281.413 BNB, with a dollar valuation of approximately $1.208 billion at the time of the burn. The burn transaction has been recorded on-chain, and the remaining BNB available for burning can be queried in real-time. The current total supply of BNB is 137,738,379.26 coins.

BNB is the native token of the BNB Chain ecosystem, supporting transactions on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC), opBNB L2, and the BNB Greenfield blockchain. Additionally, BNB serves as a governance token, allowing holders to participate in the decentralized on-chain governance of BNB Chain, while also acting as a strategic reserve asset to promote ecosystem development and mainstream financial institution adoption. BNB employs an automatic burn mechanism (Auto-Burn), gradually reducing the total supply to 100 million coins based on a formula that considers price and block generation. Furthermore, BNB has implemented a real-time burn mechanism based on BSC transaction fees, with approximately 276,000 BNB burned since the introduction of the BEP95 proposal.
