Further discussion on Virutal and X402
- Talking Again About Virtual and X402
Although I have often talked about Virtual in previous articles and discussed some topics related to X402, many readers still ask related questions.
Regarding Virtual, I remember a few months ago when Genesis Lauches had just gone live, I wrote some thoughts in an article, suggesting that the future direction of this project still needs to be observed. Especially in the next three to six months, if no new projects on the platform can produce a "celebrity" AI Agent like AIXBT from the previous small peak, the project's popularity will gradually fade.
Now, looking back at the projects launched on the platform in the following months, objectively speaking, I believe that no newly generated AI Agents have surpassed the popularity of the former AIXBT.
However, coincidentally, just as the Virtual ecosystem was gradually calming down, the X402 protocol emerged, and this protocol happened to have a batch of AI Agents that fit well within the Virtual ecosystem. This sparked interest and brought a group of related AI Agents in the Virtual ecosystem to life, of course, also boosting the popularity and price of Virtual itself.
I think this event is largely a coincidence.
But the reason why this coincidence was captured by Virtual and not by other platforms is quite simple: the Virtual platform adopted a broad approach to cultivate various AI Agents.
This approach covers many fields where AI Agents might be needed. Although these Agents may not seem to have potential or value at the moment, it is very likely that one day a new protocol with significant application value will suddenly appear, corresponding to those previously unnoticed and unheated Agents, thus reigniting interest in the related Agents and Virtual itself.
However, whether such coincidences can continue to occur and be captured by the Virtual ecosystem is hard to say. Ultimately, it depends on whether the Virtual ecosystem can produce truly valuable, widely applicable AI Agents that can serve the public.
So overall, I still feel that Virtual needs to be observed, and it is not appropriate to draw conclusions now.
For Virtual, as long as I believe the team is solid and the direction is not fundamentally wrong, I will continue to hold. At least up to now, I believe this team is a very good one in the crypto ecosystem, worthy of accompanying and growing alongside it.
- No Bull Market, Waited 4 Years, Didn't Expect It to Be Like This
Everyone has different views on whether there is a bull market, so it's hard to comment.
However, "waited 4 years, didn't expect it to be like this" reflects the disappointment of many participants regarding this round of market conditions.
Sometimes I think: perhaps the past few rounds of bull markets in the crypto ecosystem have given many investors the impression that:
There is a bull market in the crypto ecosystem every four years, and each bull market will be "crazy." So as long as one is fortunate enough to participate in any bull market, they can reap substantial rewards.
In fact, if we look at the historical trends of other investment markets, we will find that their historical trajectories have been uneven and even quite bumpy. They have experienced crazy bull markets as well as prolonged, torturous bear markets. Many investment markets in history have gone through atypical bull markets, extinguishing the enthusiasm and aspirations of generations of investors.
Perhaps such investment markets are the truly normal investment markets.
The "crazy" bull markets in the past rounds of the crypto ecosystem were actually just a kind of coincidence, a gift and luck bestowed upon those participants in those years.
That is not inevitable, nor is it a rule.
Therefore, after experiencing this atypical "bull market," we need to change our mindset and adopt a more calm, rational, and low-expectation attitude towards the future trends of the market, which is the correct approach.
