Russian crypto fraudster Roman Novak and his wife were kidnapped and murdered in the UAE
According to CryptoSlate, Russian cryptocurrency fraudster Roman Novak and his wife Anna were found kidnapped and murdered in the United Arab Emirates, with the case related to the extortion of digital assets.
Roman Novak was previously sentenced for large-scale fraud in St. Petersburg before moving to Dubai, where he developed the Fintopio crypto application and allegedly raised hundreds of millions from new investors.
Reports indicate that the couple went missing during an investor meeting and were later confirmed to have been lured to a rented villa for kidnapping, where the abductors attempted to force Novak to hand over access to his substantial crypto funds. After failing to achieve this, the Novak couple was murdered. Currently, seven suspects have been arrested in the UAE and Russia.
