Prashant Newnaha, Senior Rates Strategist at TD Securities Asia Pacific, stated that we expect the next step to be the U.S. House of Representatives voting on Wednesday local time (regarding the temporary funding bill), and the U.S. government is expected to reopen this Friday.

The U.S. shutdown has undoubtedly had a negative impact on the economy, but the market is likely anticipating a swift rebound in the economy after the shutdown ends. Besides the short-term positive sentiment, the direct market impact of the end of the U.S. shutdown should become limited after early next week. (Jin Shi)
