The Fed's hawkish remarks hit interest rate cut expectations, causing a severe blow to global markets

According to Jinshi reports, the hawkish signals from Federal Reserve officials have extinguished market hopes for a rate cut in December, leading to a heavy blow to global stock and precious metals markets on Friday. Blue-chip markets in Tokyo, Paris, and London all saw significant declines, and U.S. stock index futures indicate a bleak opening for Wall Street. Jeremy Stretch, head of foreign exchange strategy at CIBC Markets, stated that market expectations for a December rate cut have returned to a fifty-fifty stance, with market sentiment becoming erratic. Meanwhile, the White House indicated that U.S. unemployment data for October may never be obtained, intensifying views that the Federal Reserve may pause its actions.
