WLFI will reallocate funds for users affected by phishing attacks, and KYC verification must be completed

According to the WLFI announcement, before the platform officially launched, some user wallets were compromised due to phishing attacks or mnemonic phrase leaks. WLFI emphasized that the incident was not caused by platform or contract vulnerabilities, but rather stemmed from third-party security issues.

The team has developed new contract logic that allows assets to be reallocated to a secure new wallet after completing KYC verification. Wallets that have not submitted an application or have not passed verification will remain frozen, and users can still initiate the recovery process through the customer service center. According to Emmett Gallic, World Liberty Fi has destroyed a total of 166.67 million WLFI tokens (worth approximately 22.14 million USD) from a wallet suspected of being compromised and will reallocate an equivalent amount of tokens to a new secure address.
