South Korean financial regulators urge Bithumb to suspend Tether Market services
The South Korean financial regulator has urged Bithumb to suspend its Tether market services, which allow customers to buy and sell Bitcoin and nine other high-market-cap altcoins using USDT. However, these 10 assets can continue to be traded in the Korean won (KRW) market. Bithumb is currently still in the beta testing phase and is involved in an order book sharing agreement with Stellar.
Bithumb stated that the service will be closed for system maintenance and will undergo restructuring to "provide a more stable and advanced trading environment."
