Polymarket users suspect insider trading, mysterious account profits millions of dollars

According to Decrypt, Polymarket announced the Google search trend results for 2025 yesterday, with the obscure singer d4vd unexpectedly winning. A user with the alias 0xafEe accurately bet on all major candidates, earning $1.15 million, raising suspicions of insider trading.

This user not only correctly predicted d4vd's victory (which had only a 0.2% chance of winning at the time) but also accurately judged the defeats of popular candidates like Pope Leo XIV and Trump. Afterward, the user immediately changed their nickname, adding to the suspicion. Polymarket veteran user Car questioned on the X platform: this is simply an insider employee making extra money.

However, some believe that insider trading is a feature of such platforms rather than a flaw, making prediction markets closer to real probabilities.
