Barclays: The Federal Reserve is expected to cut interest rates by 25 basis points this week, with two more cuts next year
According to Jinshi News, Barclays expects the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates by 25 basis points to a range of 3.5% - 3.75% at this week's monetary policy meeting, and the post-meeting statement may include hawkish language, suggesting a pause in rate cuts in January next year.
The bank maintains its forecast of two 25 basis point rate cuts in March and June next year, believing that the new economic projections may show little change, and the dot plot will reflect one rate cut each in 2026 and 2027, each by 25 basis points, with the long-term interest rate median forecast expected to remain at 3%.
