According to Jin Ten, some analysts believe that the Federal Reserve may decide to start expanding its holdings of U.S. Treasury securities at today's meeting to ensure that the size of bank reserves remains stable in line with economic growth. New York Fed President Williams stated that the Federal Reserve may soon enter a phase suitable for such operations, but restarting bond purchases is not a certainty.
