Federal Reserve's Harker: November inflation data may be distorted, neutral interest rates could be higher
According to Jinshi, Federal Reserve's Hamak stated that the November inflation data is positive, possibly due to data collection distortions caused by the government shutdown, underestimating the price growth over the past 12 months. Although the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the November CPI rose by 2.7% year-on-year, the adjusted estimate is close to 2.9% or 3%. Hamak believes that the neutral interest rate level may be higher than widely expected, and the economy is expected to maintain robust growth next year.
