Tether froze 180 million USDT across five wallet addresses on Tron

According to The Block, Whale Alert data shows that Tether has frozen over $182 million worth of USDT across five wallet addresses on the Tron blockchain. These freezing actions occurred on the same day, with wallet balances ranging from approximately $12 million to $50 million.

This coordinated action is one of the larger single-day wallet restriction measures disclosed recently on the Tron blockchain. The blacklisting of wallets aligns with a voluntary wallet freezing policy that Tether officially launched in December 2023, aimed at complying with the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control's Specially Designated Nationals list.
