Solana co-founder responds to Vitalik's "exit test" narrative: If we stop meeting the needs of users and developers, Solana will perish

The co-founder of Solana Labs, toly, responded on the X platform to Vitalik Buterin's viewpoint that "Ethereum itself must undergo a detachment test," stating that he holds a different opinion. He indicated that Solana needs to continuously iterate and evolve without relying on any single team or individual, but if it stops adjusting based on the needs of developers and users, Solana will head towards extinction.

toly pointed out that Solana must have a wide and genuine range of human use cases and be adopted by a large number of developers, enabling it to generate substantial revenue from on-chain transaction value, thus creating positive feedback and investing more resources (such as LLM token credit) into upstream improvements for this general open-source protocol. He emphasized that the primary goal of protocol changes should be to address the actual problems of developers or users, rather than striving to cover all needs; choosing "not to solve" most issues is necessary.
