Solana Policy Research Institute: The Roman Storm case is not an isolated incident, calling for stronger legal protections for software developers
According to The Block, the Solana Policy Research Institute stated that the criminal case against Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm is "not an isolated dispute" and called on U.S. lawmakers to establish a clearer legal protection framework for software developers.
The institute pointed out that the relevant case has become a critical juncture in testing whether the U.S. still supports open innovation. Although the case has not been dismissed, there remains hope before sentencing is determined, and it described the case as the "largest regulatory and even criminal uncertainty" currently facing the U.S. crypto ecosystem.
