Base: The issue of the network failure on January 31 has been mitigated by rolling back changes

2026-02-04 10:33:10
Collection

Base released a post-mortem report on the network outage on January 31, when Base experienced transaction loss and inclusion delay issues due to changes in transaction propagation configuration that caused block builders to repeatedly fetch transactions that could not be executed due to rapid increases in base fees.

Base stated that the issue has been mitigated by rolling back the changes, and network stability has been restored. The team is taking measures to prevent a recurrence, including optimizing the transaction pipeline, removing unnecessary P2P overhead, and adjusting the memory pool queue, which is expected to take about a month. Additionally, Base is also improving its alert system and change monitoring mechanisms.
