Vitalik Buterin: Network layer anonymity is the key missing link in current privacy infrastructure

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted on the X platform, stating that network layer anonymity has long been an important missing piece in the construction of privacy technology systems. Neither on-chain privacy solutions (such as Railgun) nor off-chain zero-knowledge applications (such as ZK API receipts) have managed to cover this aspect.

He also pointed out that there are a considerable number of application scenarios that have low bandwidth requirements but are highly sensitive to latency. Achieving an effective balance between low latency and high anonymity is of significant importance for the development of related technological directions.
