Apex Group will tokenize Bitcoin mining receipts OMN on the Coinbase Base platform

2026-03-24 18:10:53

According to CoinDesk, fund services giant Apex Group announced that it will tokenize Omnes Mining Note (OMN) on the Base platform, a Layer 2 network under Coinbase. OMN is an institutional-grade structured note backed by Bitcoin mining power, aimed at professional non-U.S. investors, providing economic exposure directly linked to new Bitcoin production without the operational burdens of mining infrastructure, hardware, energy, and compliance.

Each OMN corresponds to a fixed 1 PH/s of mining power, with a term of 36 months, and ownership is recorded on-chain through the ERC-3643 standard, which may potentially be used as collateral for permissioned lending in the future.
