U.S. stocks closed lower, with the three major indices down, and chip stocks mixed

According to Gate market data, U.S. stocks closed lower on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average initially down 0.77%, the S&P 500 index down 1.07%, and the Nasdaq down 1.4%. Chip stocks were mixed, with Western Digital up 2.23%, SK Hynix ADR up 1.13%, NVIDIA down 2.21%, Meta Platforms down 2.79%, and SpaceX down 5.43%. Apple closed up 0.14%, briefly surpassing NVIDIA in market capitalization during the session. The Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index fell 1.82%, with Alibaba down 2%.
