Uniswap founder: Related asset pairs will become the core engine for AMM to dominate the global market

2026-08-18 10:30:50

Uniswap founder Hayden Adams (@haydenzadams) posted that as the process of asset tokenization accelerates, AMM (Automated Market Makers) is facing structural opportunities. He pointed out that tokenization is not only an upgrade of market infrastructure but also makes the market programmable, fundamentally changing the way markets are created and the barriers to participation.

On-chain liquidity spontaneously forms a pattern of "related asset pairs" — the higher the correlation between asset pairs, the lower the LP inventory risk and the deeper the liquidity, which also reduces the efficiency gap between passive AMM strategies and active strategies, allowing for lower capital costs to "break through" traditional market makers. He used NVDA/SPY as an example, pointing out that if stocks are traded in SPY rather than USD, it will significantly reduce market-making costs, while bridge pairs (such as SPY/USD) will still be competed by professional institutions.
