Kalshi applies to the CFTC to launch stock index perpetual futures
According to Cointelegraph, the prediction market platform Kalshi has submitted an application to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to launch stock index perpetual futures products. This product will allow traders to establish leveraged long or short positions on major stock indices without holding the underlying stocks.
Perpetual futures, as derivative contracts with no expiration date, enable investors to continuously express their views on index trends and manage risk. Kalshi's move aims to expand its regulated trading product line, introducing traditional stock index exposure in the form of futures to the platform for qualified traders to participate.
