Gold and Bitcoin ETFs attracted a total of $7 billion in funds over five days, with BlackRock's IBIT seeing an inflow of $1.5 billion

According to Bloomberg, over the past five trading days, gold and Bitcoin ETFs have attracted a record $7 billion in inflows, with the SPDR Gold ETF (GLD) seeing nearly $3.4 billion and the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) attracting $1.5 billion. Both ranked among the top ten U.S. ETF inflows for the week.

Investors are simultaneously buying gold and Bitcoin as hedging tools against financial anxiety. U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent announced an expansion of long-term Treasury bond repurchases, leading to a weaker dollar and declining yields, which has driven demand for scarce assets. Bernstein analyst Gautam Chhugani noted that rising interest rates and high sovereign debt levels benefit non-dilutable assets like Bitcoin.

Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio advised investors to allocate up to 15% of their funds to gold and Bitcoin to hedge against the risks of the U.S. debt crisis. Bitcoin has surpassed $80,000 this month, while gold has exceeded $4,600 per ounce.
