In response to the community rumor that "Aptos will shut down its blockchain in the next 6 months," Aptos Labs co-founder and CEO Avery Ching publicly stated that this is "a stupid rumor."

The X account that initially published the related news did not provide any official Aptos announcement, governance proposal, or other documents as evidence. When pressed for evidence, the account stated that the information was merely "heard" and reminded to be cautious in interpretation.

Additionally, another community account claimed that Aptos had significantly laid off employees over the past year and was facing financial pressure, but that account also admitted that the source of the information was "unreliable," and there is currently no public information to confirm the above claims.

Aptos's current public governance records still show network upgrade proposals and executed mainnet function updates, and no official plans to shut down the mainnet have been found.
