The six-year vesting period for Filecoin is about to end, at which point approximately 68 million FIL tokens will be removed from annual releases. Based on the current mining rate, the annualized increase from vesting and block rewards will drop from about 89 million FIL to 21 million.
After the vesting period ends, rewards for storage providers will continue to be distributed. Filecoin is a decentralized storage network, and FIL is its native token used to incentivize storage and retrieval services within the network.
