Nine cryptocurrency organizations established Quantum Alliance to promote the development of blockchain quantum-resistant standards
According to Decrypt, nine blockchain organizations including Quantus, Postquant Labs, Midnight Foundation, Keystone, Abelian, and Hacken have jointly established the Quantum Alliance, aiming to develop "quantum-ready" open standards and establish a unified approach to test the quantum resistance of blockchain networks, wallets, and infrastructure.
The Quantum Alliance stated that currently, approximately 6.04 million BTC, accounting for about 30% of the Bitcoin supply, are at potential risk of quantum attacks due to the exposure of elliptic curve signature public keys. The organization will focus on promoting blockchain migration, post-quantum zero-knowledge systems, wallet security, and cross-chain compatibility, citing recent predictions that practical quantum attack windows may appear as early as around 2028.
