On-chain private credit startup Valinor has completed a $25 million seed round financing, led by Castle Island Ventures

According to Fortune, Valinor, a blockchain private credit startup co-founded by former Blackstone employees, announced the completion of a $25 million seed round financing. This round was led by Castle Island Ventures, with participation from the crypto division of Susquehanna, Maven11, and the founder of TeraWulf, a Bitcoin mining company transitioning to artificial intelligence.Valinor's core business is to put the private credit process on-chain. Traditional private credit institutions rely on manual verification and spreadsheet collaboration when handling revolving credit lines and other businesses. Valinor plans to replace these processes with smart contracts to achieve automated routing of funds and condition-triggered execution. Both co-founders have traditional finance backgrounds, having worked in banks and the private credit division of Blackstone before transitioning to the crypto industry in 2022. Initially, Valinor focuses on providing loans to crypto companies, and later plans to introduce blockchain technology into the loan process to enhance efficiency. Currently, the company has completed lending for several fintech and crypto companies through blockchain technology. The funds raised in this round will be used to expand the loan scale, broaden the customer base, and increase team personnel, with the current number of employees at 6.

Overall, the total market capitalization of the cryptocurrency market has declined by about 5.5%, with the market in a phase of emotional recovery and structural differentiation. On the macro level, the Fed maintained interest rates, and the situation in the Middle East has driven up energy prices, increasing market concerns about stagflation risks. Meanwhile, the integration of traditional finance and the cryptocurrency market continues to deepen, with Morgan Stanley and Grayscale respectively advancing Bitcoin and Hyperliquid ETF-related layouts. Exchanges are also relaxing restrictions on related derivatives trading, further broadening institutional participation pathways. In addition, the trend of institutionalization in the prediction market sector is accelerating, with Kalshi completing over $1 billion in financing, reaching a valuation of $22 billion. In terms of investment and financing, a total of 11 transactions were completed last week, with a disclosed total financing amount of $1.18 billion, of which the infrastructure sector accounted for 64%, being the main flow of funds. Haun Ventures CEO: The global payment sector is witnessing an arms race, and AI agents will drive the continuous growth of stablecoin demand

Katie Haun, founder and CEO of the crypto venture capital firm Haun Ventures, stated in an interview with CNBC, "What is happening in the global payments space is essentially an arms race. Mastercard this week acquired the stablecoin infrastructure company BVNK for up to $1.8 billion, officially entering the stablecoin space. This is one of Mastercard's largest acquisitions ever. Stablecoins can transfer digital dollars instantly and frictionlessly on a global scale, which is a truly significant innovation. The transaction volume in this space has reached $12.5 trillion, and we believe this scale will only continue to grow in the AI era."On the regulatory front, Katie Haun mentioned, "This week, the CFTC and SEC jointly released guidance on what constitutes a security and what constitutes a commodity, which is a core issue in the crypto industry. I have heard that the Senate Banking Committee is advancing a compromise proposal that could be announced as early as today, and I am cautiously optimistic about it. But the key issue is that Congress effectively has only three working months left before the midterm elections, and they need to quickly push the CLARITY Act to a vote after the Easter recess." Speaking about the combination of AI and blockchain, Katie Haun stated, "AI agents will increasingly replace humans in executing transactions and payments. If you think AI agents will use the same payment systems as humans, I believe that is a mistake. Agents require 24/7, instant settlement on a global scale, and stablecoins are the infrastructure built for this new era."
