first_img PewDiePie stated that OpenAI banned his account twice, creating an uncensored model Ajax

YouTuber PewDiePie stated in his latest video that his account was banned twice by OpenAI while training the small local AI model Ajax. He mentioned that he originally hoped to distill reasoning tokens from OpenAI's flagship model GPT-5.6 Sol, released on July 9, and find a study that utilized OpenAI's own API to crack encrypted reasoning content. He claimed that he did not actually crack OpenAI but was still banned, and after appealing, his account was restored after some time. After the account was restored, he used Sol again to generate seed data and was subsequently banned for the second time. OpenAI's terms of service prohibit the development of competing models using its outputs. Ajax is a 9 billion parameter model built on Alibaba's open-source model Qwen 3.5, which will run in PewDiePie's free self-hosted AI application Odysseus launched in June, and it is not yet available for download. To prevent Ajax from being censored, he used the open-source tool Heretic to remove the model's built-in refusal mechanism, a technique known as abliteration. He stated that Ajax suffered a bit of brain damage as a result, but it has about a 90% success rate in tasks like organizing the inbox and browsing the web, and he continues to train it using the GRPO method. He mentioned that when choosing which refusal behaviors to remove, he draws the line at harming others or harming himself.

first_img In September, the number of job postings in the cryptocurrency industry increased to 1,241, while the number of applications dropped to less than 20,000

According to data from the cryptocurrency recruitment platform CryptoJobsList, the number of job postings by cryptocurrency companies in September increased from 382 in July to 1241, continuing to rise from 886 in August, and surpassing the most active month earlier this year, January, which had 573 postings. The number of companies posting jobs in September rose to 125, up from 107 in July, and briefly dropped to 77 in August. The platform believes that the hiring rebound in September aligns with the seasonal pattern of business normalization following the summer off-peak season in the Northern Hemisphere, but the data indicates that seasonality is not the only reason: the number of job postings in August had already doubled compared to July, and there was no similar surge from August to September in 2025; the most active month that year, October, only had 373 postings, with data from July to September remaining relatively stable. In contrast to the rise in job postings, the number of applications fell from 25,700 in July to 24,631 in August, and further dropped to below 20,000 in September. CryptoJobsList interprets this divergence as an indication of increasing competition for professional talent. Over the past three months, finance has been the largest recruitment category, followed by engineering and trading, with stablecoins, AI, security, and compliance also making it into the top ten; the most commonly requested blockchain skills are Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

first_img OpenPayd plans to go public on Nasdaq by the end of the year and enter the U.S. market in April 2027

The London-based payment infrastructure company OpenPayd's CEO Iana Dimitrova told CoinDesk that the company expects to complete its merger with Titan Acquisition Corp. and list on Nasdaq by the end of this year. The transaction is still subject to the effectiveness of the registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and approval from Titan shareholders, with the stock ticker expected to be OP after listing. According to the announced terms, the implied equity value of OpenPayd in the transaction could reach up to $1.1 billion.OpenPayd provides account, foreign exchange, and domestic and international payment services to companies such as Kraken, B2C2, and OKX, and offers infrastructure for converting between fiat currencies and stablecoins, having integrated with the Circle payment network and Fireblocks payment network. Last month, the company incorporated MSB USA Inc. and its 43 state-level money transmission licenses into the group, planning to launch services for U.S. customers by April 2027. For the fiscal year ending April 30, 2026, the company reported revenue of $73 million, up from $57 million in the previous fiscal year, with an EBITDA of $13 million and a net loss of $2.8 million. A company spokesperson stated that the loss was entirely due to a one-time transaction cost of $5.8 million related to this merger.Dimitrova stated that the company intends to acquire businesses that can provide licenses or technology to accelerate its entry into new markets. The listing will provide funding and publicly traded stock that can be used for transactions and collaborations. The company is also considering a private placement before the merger to raise growth capital.

first_img Cathie Wood: Investors should pay attention to the capital flow of AI agents

ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood stated at a summit hosted by Robinhood in Houston that investors have traditionally "followed developers" to gauge technological trends, but now they may need to "follow agents." The AI agents she refers to are software that can perform tasks on behalf of humans, rather than just answering questions or generating text. This statement came towards the end of a discussion on AI, private markets, and technology investments. As AI agents shift from answering questions to executing operations and spending funds, the type of financial infrastructure they will use has become a focal point. SharpLink co-CEO and former BlackRock digital asset head Joseph Chalom believes that the financial system used by AI agents should not be controlled by a few banks or tech companies. He cited the example of authorized agents booking hotels, pointing out that users should be able to set spending limits, revoke authorizations at any time, and view the agents' transaction records. Additionally, users should be able to transfer the agents' identities, financial information, and permissions between different financial service providers, similar to mobile number portability.Chalom believes that open blockchains like Ethereum can provide a universal financial network for different agents, applications, and companies to use collectively, eliminating the need for each AI company to build its own closed payment system. A report from BlackRock in September also noted that AI agents could create new demands for machine-oriented payment systems, such as payment API calls, purchasing data, or renting computing power, with stablecoins and blockchain being one of the viable solutions. Coinbase's x402 is designed to enable machines to pay for online services like data or APIs.

first_img Aave Labs proposed to establish the Cayman Aave Foundation, with Phase 1 covering only entity registration

The developer of the decentralized lending protocol Aave, Aave Labs, has published an ARFC on the governance forum, proposing the establishment of the Aave Foundation. This entity will be a memberless foundation company in the Cayman Islands, which will hold the Aave trademark and related intellectual property for the Aave Protocol. The proposal only covers Phase 1, which includes entity registration and the appointment of initial independent directors and supervisors. The transfer of trademarks, domain names, and intellectual property of the codebase, as well as the scope of operations, will be addressed in subsequent phases and must be submitted for governance separately. Phase 1 only applies for registration, legal work, and reasonable expenses for the appointment of directors, supervisors, and secretaries, with no recurring budget; future funding must be proposed separately. The foundation is established under the Foundation Companies Act, with its charter goals limited to holding, protecting, and licensing intellectual property for the Aave Protocol. Aave Labs, DAO service providers, and their affiliates have no right to appoint directors or supervisors and cannot hold such positions. After the initial appointments, the removal and appointment of directors can only be done through an AIP. If this ARFC reaches community consensus, it will enter Snapshot, and then the related expenses will be authorized through an AIP, followed by registration in the Cayman Islands and completion of the appointments.

first_img Arrakis: On-chain dollar yield RWA buyers primarily use crypto-native funds

On-chain liquidity protocol Arrakis Finance released a study tracking the on-chain buying records of 10 tokenized dollar yield products, using Ethena's sUSDe as a benchmark. The study covered 71,697 buyers with a total buying amount of 91.3 billion dollars. Of the 12.4 billion dollars in categorized demand, about two-thirds came from protocols and DAO treasuries, while the remainder came from individuals, exchanges, market makers, and crypto funds, with no purchases clearly traceable to traditional financial institutions such as pensions, asset management firms, or banks.Wallets with single purchases of 1 million dollars or more accounted for about 4% of buyers but held approximately 93% of the funds; among them, 2,586 buyers contributed over 90% of the nominal purchase amount. The median purchase amount for institutional buyers of Centrifuge's JAAA was about 29.1 million dollars, nearly three times that of the next product. About 80%, totaling 17.4 billion dollars, was settled in USDC, while USDT accounted for about 4.4 billion dollars, almost all of which was used for syrupUSDT. Primary subscriptions were the main pathway, with secondary market purchases accounting for less than 6%, and only sUSDe had 55% obtained through decentralized exchanges. The median first activity time for buyer wallets concentrated around mid-2024, described as new entrants of crypto-native funds. By time zone, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa accounted for 42%, Asia-Pacific for 40%, and the Americas for 18%. After tracing back two hops for 5.17 billion dollars of unmarked institutional-level funds, exchange sources accounted for 40% (Binance 1.12 billion dollars, Coinbase 970 million dollars), DeFi native funds accounted for 38%, and another 22% could not be identified.
