EDA tools have recently quietly resumed access for some Chinese companies
ChainCatcher news, after direct talks between high-level officials from China and the United States, there has been a subtle shift in China's semiconductor and electronic design automation (EDA) strategy.According to feedback from several local IC design engineers and companies in China, access to the Synopsys technical support platform "Solv Net Plus" and Cadence's "Support Portal," which was previously restricted due to U.S. export controls, has now been restored. However, neither Synopsys nor Cadence has officially disclosed this change. It remains unclear whether this restoration applies only to specific, lower-sensitivity Chinese clients, raising questions about the possibility of the U.S. easing technology restrictions on China.
