PayPal co-founder’s venture capital firm Founders Fund purchased $200 million in cryptocurrency last year
ChainCatcher news, Reuters cited sources reporting that Founders Fund, the venture capital firm founded by PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, has invested in Bitcoin and Ethereum again, indicating a renewed interest in the cryptocurrency market from Silicon Valley.
According to the source, from late last summer to early autumn, the fund invested $200 million to purchase cryptocurrencies, half in Bitcoin and the other half in Ethereum.
The source added that last summer, the fund began buying Bitcoin when the price was below $30,000 and purchased more Bitcoin and Ethereum over the following months, with the average transaction price unknown.
