Current Market Trend Analysis | Q&A
1. What do you think of the Ethereum ZK L2 system TAIKO, which Vitalik also supports?
I had some understanding of this project earlier, but I haven't followed it much since then. Overall, I can't really see its unique features, so I haven't paid much attention. Additionally, due to my limited time, energy, and financial resources, I haven't participated in this project's opportunities.
Vitalik often mentions various projects in his articles, and some people might think this is him endorsing those projects, but I don't see it that way. I think sometimes he is purely evaluating a project from a technical perspective.
There are many such cases in his writings.
For example, a long time ago, the Loopring team used ZK technology to create a decentralized exchange. At that time, this exchange was mentioned by Vitalik on various occasions. I think from a technical perspective, this exchange was indeed very avant-garde for its time; it was probably the first decentralized exchange to use ZK technology.
From a technical standpoint, it was appropriate for Vitalik to mention it, and his purpose was clear—he wanted to encourage the Ethereum ecosystem to vigorously promote and use ZK technology.
However, I never bought the tokens of this exchange, mainly because the ZK technology at that time was still very immature, and the exchange had significant limitations in scalability, clearly unable to compete with Uniswap.
Whether a project can ultimately grow and thrive is related to many factors, and technology is just one of them. Therefore, I think it's worthwhile to study and understand the projects mentioned by Vitalik, especially in terms of technological foresight and guidance.
But when it comes to whether to participate in the projects he mentions, one should still make an independent judgment.
2. Why does this bull market feel so difficult?
I think it entirely depends on how you define a bull market.
By my standards, since the last bull market crashed, a new bull market has never really arrived, because Bitcoin and Ethereum have not both reached new historical highs (only Bitcoin has surpassed its previous peak).
In the past, bull markets generally arrived about six months after Bitcoin's halving. If we look at history with a rigid perspective, this bull market might not come until after October this year.
It's only June now, so there's no need to rush or feel that this round is particularly hard to endure.
Like in the past, we need to be patient before the bull market arrives.
3. Li Ka-shing has been away from the mainland for ten years. In hindsight, was it too early or too late for him to leave?
Mr. Li Ka-shing is a senior businessman I greatly admire.
I don't like to comment on such a senior figure using the popular emotional opinions found online. I firmly believe that as long as one abides by the law and makes substantial donations to charity, there is nothing to criticize. Just based on this, Mr. Li has surpassed the contributions that most people can make to society in a lifetime.
Earlier, I saw a piece of news online: in February this year, the local officials from Mr. Li's hometown personally visited him in Hong Kong.
The details reported by foreign media mentioned that Mr. Li politely responded (in essence): as long as there is an opportunity, he will certainly do his best for his hometown and country.
I think such a statement clearly indicates Mr. Li's own view on whether leaving the mainland was early or late.
4. What do you think of AMPL?
I bought this coin during the last bull market, and I even received its governance tokens as an airdrop for providing liquidity, so it left a deep impression on me.
However, as the last bull market approached its peak, I sold all of it. Subsequently, I didn't see any particularly innovative points or new directions for the project, so I never bought it again and gradually forgot about it.
