ChainCatcher message, Solana co-founder Toly stated in response to a community member's question: "ZK is slower than traditional computation. Therefore, since there are no religious reasons limiting the capacity of full nodes, Solana is always faster than ZK." In response, ZKsync developer Matter Labs CEO Alex Gluchowski said: "ZK is always faster than Solana because it is protected by mathematics rather than validators, which means one or a few validators (for redundancy) are sufficient, without needing to wait for thousands of nodes to reach consensus."
