The ruling party in South Korea claims it will push for Yoon Suk-yeol to step down early next year and hold early elections

ChainCatcher news, local time today (December 10) afternoon, the South Korean National Assembly passed the "Permanent Special Investigation Act" with a vote result of 210 in favor, 63 against, and 14 abstentions, to investigate the insurrection charges related to President Yoon Suk-yeol's late-night declaration of "emergency martial law" and other issues disrupting constitutional order.

The subjects of the investigation include South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, former Defense Minister Kim Dong-yeon, and other key figures involved in the "emergency martial law." The ruling party in South Korea stated today (December 10) that it will push for President Yoon Suk-yeol to step down early next year and hold early elections, while the opposition parties expressed their determination to expedite the impeachment of Yoon Suk-yeol.
