The cryptocurrency market under Trump's new policies: Opportunity or trap? Where should investors go?

Summary: So overall, my strategy is still to observe more and act less, focusing mainly on observation.

So overall, my strategy is still to observe more and act less, focusing mainly on observation.

Yesterday, after Trump took office and delivered his inaugural speech, many people online were discussing why Trump didn't mention cryptocurrency at all during his speech.

Actually, I think it’s not necessary to pay too much attention to this.

As an inaugural speech, it reflects more of Trump's redefinition and reiteration of the future direction and fundamental values of the country as president, rather than a statement on industrial development and specific policies.

In terms of technology policy, Trump has previously strongly advocated for two key areas of development: one is crypto assets, and the other is artificial intelligence.

In this speech, he mentioned neither crypto assets nor artificial intelligence.

But does this mean he won't take any measures to continue strengthening the United States' leading position in these two fields?

Definitely not.

In terms of economic policy, Trump has previously advocated for two main policies: one is the return of manufacturing, and the other is imposing tariffs.

In this speech, he mentioned making America a manufacturing nation again, but he did not mention the return of manufacturing, nor did he mention imposing tariffs.

But does this mean he won't take any measures to implement his ideas?

Definitely not.

As soon as the speech was over, his first tariff strike was aimed at neighboring Canada.

If you carefully observe the seating arrangement at his inauguration ceremony, you will find that the first row is his family members, the second row is American tech giants, and the third row is his cabinet members.

From this seating arrangement, it is clear that cabinet members do not have much influence on him; I even think they are merely tools for him to achieve his goals, while the real influencers on his policies are the first two rows: family members and tech giants.

Let’s not talk about family members.

Looking at those tech giants, almost all of them are involved in the crypto industry, and all are involved in artificial intelligence? Moreover, they are all filled with vigilance and hostility towards another country?

For the American president, we often like to say that they are entangled with the financial interests of Wall Street.

But looking at these tech giants surrounding Trump, I feel that their status in his mind is far higher than that of Wall Street.

Seeing such a scene, my feelings are quite complex.

I wrote in a previous article that this time Trump is no longer the naive person he was during his last term; this time he will do his utmost to implement the policies and measures he envisions.

Therefore, the key now is not whether he will introduce any measures, but what exactly are his thoughts? Will his previous ideas change?

If it is something he has always been determined to do, I’m afraid no one can stop him. The only things that can stop him are sufficiently enticing interests and a high enough price.

But who knows how big his appetite will be as a businessman?

Specifically regarding the crypto industry, he will definitely prioritize and support American companies in this sector. And in my view, these companies have both "good" and "bad" (here, "good" and "bad" purely refer to values).

So when he introduces a series of measures that benefit these companies, the impact on the entire crypto ecosystem may be quite complex:

In the long run, it will definitely benefit the entire ecosystem.

But in the short term, it will create various unexpected shocks to the ecosystem, and it is difficult to determine whether these shocks are good or bad in a short time. Additionally, his own team issuing coins makes things even more complicated.

So overall, my strategy is still to watch more and act less, focusing on observation. For things I don’t understand or can’t comprehend, I will refrain from engaging and will observe first.

As for the many people online saying they missed the opportunity to get rich from Trump’s coin issuance, I don’t think there’s anything to regret. I didn’t participate either; I didn’t buy his coin, nor did I buy his wife’s coin.

If people believe this is a chance to get rich, then from another perspective, it also shows that the crypto ecosystem is never short of opportunities; if you miss one, there will be another. We just need to patiently wait for the next opportunity that belongs to us.
