ChainCatcher news, a spokesperson for the Investment Promotion Agency of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, which is responsible for promoting foreign investment, confirmed that cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC) can be used as proof of assets when applying for a new capital investor entry scheme visa.

Visa requirements state that applicants must prove they have a net worth of at least HKD 30 million (USD 3.8 million) within a specific period. The spokesperson stated in an email that there are no specific asset type requirements, but a valuation report signed by a certified public accountant is necessary.
