PLVR Official Presentation of Coinbase System Update: On-site Entertainment Accelerates Towards On-chain Infrastructure

PLVR, a data and financial infrastructure platform for the live entertainment sector, announced today that it was officially showcased at the Coinbase System Update event. This event is a product and strategy launch hosted by Coinbase.

At the System Update event, Sid Coelho Prabhu, head of Coinbase Business, introduced PLVR as a representative application case for real-world live entertainment in a presentation. The presentation highlighted how PLVR integrates Coinbase Business and Payment Links to support both traditional payment channels and cryptocurrency payments, enabling global instant payments with no chargeback risk and no settlement delays, while also offering advantages in fee structures compared to traditional credit card-based payment systems.

PLVR is a data and financial infrastructure platform built for the live entertainment industry. The first application built on PLVR is PLVR Ticketing. PLVR Ticketing aims to simplify the ticket purchasing experience for audiences while guiding the next billion users into the on-chain world. With a checkout process that requires no registration and completes payment in four steps, users can purchase tickets without creating an account. Each ticket is minted on EVM blockchains such as Base and BNB Chain and is directly delivered to a pre-generated Coinbase Wallet, enabling verifiable on-chain ownership and helping to reduce the common fraud risks associated with traditional ticketing systems.

PLVR has been validated in large-scale scenarios, having served multiple major music festivals in Asia, including NEON Countdown, Thailand's 808 Festival, Indonesia's DWP, and Singapore's Charlotte de Witte 2025. Since its official launch in April 2025, PLVR has supported over 200 live events and onboarded 100,000 users. Through a unified payment layer, PLVR allows organizers to accept both cryptocurrency and traditional payment methods in the same process. In addition to payments and ticketing, PLVR also assists organizers in bringing more aspects of the live entertainment lifecycle on-chain.

PLVR has integrated x402 to support agentic payment processes, achieving more autonomous payment interactions while maintaining a simple and familiar overall user experience.
