Lighter will launch the LIT token staking feature on its platform

Lighter announced on the X platform that it will launch the LIT token staking feature on the Lighter platform. The initial staking utility includes: for every 1 LIT staked, users can immediately deposit 10 USDC into Lighter LLP. There will be a two-week grace period (until January 28), during which existing LLP holders can retain their funds. After the grace period ends, staked LIT will be required to remain in LLP.

The platform will also adjust the premium rates for market makers and high-frequency trading firms, with the overall rate increasing, but staking LIT will provide fee discounts, and the minimum fee tier will remain around the current level. Retail trading will continue to be free. Staking LIT will yield returns, with the specific annualized rate to be announced later; initial returns will come from staking rights granted to premium users. Additionally, staking 100 LIT will enjoy zero withdrawal and transfer fees. The staking feature will be available to mobile users in the coming days.
