Data: By 2025, the number of global cryptocurrency holders will reach 741 million, a year-on-year increase of 12.4%

2026-02-23 12:19:59

According to Tech in Asia, Crypto.com's latest report shows that the number of global cryptocurrency holders is expected to increase from 659 million in 2024 to 741 million in 2025, a year-on-year growth of 12.4%. The report indicates that this round of growth is primarily driven by increased institutional adoption and pro-crypto policies in the United States, including the establishment of Bitcoin as a strategic reserve.

In terms of holder structure, the number of Bitcoin holders has grown by 8.3% to 365 million, accounting for nearly half of the total global holders; Ethereum holders have increased by 22.6% to 175 million, representing about 24%.

In a broader market context, stablecoins accounted for 30% of the total cryptocurrency trading volume from January to July 2025, with trading volume exceeding $4 trillion during the same period. The on-chain value of tokenized real-world assets (RWA) surpassed $30 billion in mid-September, a 93% increase since the beginning of the year, with private credit nearing $17 billion and the tokenization of U.S. Treasury bonds exceeding $7 billion.
