The second round of limited auctions is open, offering 2% of the total supply of FOLD, and Interfold will bring confidential coordination to the mainnet.

Interfold today announced two major developments: the second round of the FOLD auction has officially begun, and Network Alpha is now running on the mainnet, with the universal transfer function of FOLD also enabled.

The second round of the auction utilizes Uniswap's continuous liquidation auction mechanism, offering a limited share of 2% of the total supply of FOLD. The auction started on August 17 at 14:06 UTC and will last until August 19 at 13:06 UTC, with a starting price of 0.02154816 USDC per FOLD, consistent with the clearing price of the first round auction.

This auction is positioned as the last round of limited allocation before the full transfer of FOLD is opened, aiming to expand the accessibility of the token and enhance the market infrastructure surrounding the network. 50% of the auction proceeds will be specifically allocated for long-term on-chain liquidity support.

A Greater Vision: Confidential Coordination

The release of FOLD carries a larger goal.

As more global collaborations move towards digitalization and computation, various organizations need to work together while avoiding the exposure of sensitive information to each other. The market needs to handle private information, institutions need to analyze sensitive data, and communities need to conduct verifiable elections without publicly disclosing individual voting intentions.

Today, such processes often require participants to hand over sensitive information, computational power, or control to centralized intermediaries. Interfold aims to change this situation.

Interfold is a distributed network for confidential coordination: it allows independent parties to generate shared and verifiable results from information that cannot be directly disclosed to each other.

The goal is simple: to achieve collaborative results without requiring anyone to disclose their underlying information.

Network Alpha Brings the Vision to the Mainnet

Network Alpha is the first production version of this vision. On the mainnet, the encrypted execution environment (E3) can complete the entire lifecycle from deployment to operation. Participants can submit encrypted inputs, computations can be performed on these inputs, and authorized results are released through a distributed threshold process.

No single cryptographic node holds the complete decryption key or can independently control the release of results. Instead, the encryption rights are distributed among multiple independent operators.

Through distributed key generation (DKG) and threshold decryption, the network collectively establishes the conditions under which private computation occurs and when authorized results can be made public.

This constitutes a new model of confidential computing: private inputs, shared computation, publicly verifiable results, and no single machine controlling the entire process. Network Alpha has officially operated this architecture on the mainnet.

FOLD Becomes a Part of the Network

With the opening of FOLD's universal transfer function, FOLD enters a new phase. It is not just a transferable asset—cryptographic node operators can participate in network responsibilities by staking FOLD, providing security for the distributed cryptographic processes that E3 relies on.

This creates a direct connection between the token and the underlying network infrastructure. As Interfold grows, FOLD will play a role in distribution, liquidity, and network participation, closely linking economic incentives with the node operators responsible for confidential coordination.

A Network Designed for Real-World Applications

Network Alpha has already been put into practical use in the field of confidential governance through the integration of Interfold and Aragon. Voting remains encrypted throughout the process, while the network can generate end-to-end verifiable results. The system also features a "no receipt" characteristic, meaning participants cannot prove their voting choices to others, effectively reducing risks such as coercive voting and vote buying.

This is an early example of the larger problem that Interfold aims to solve: enabling multiple parties to contribute private information to a shared process while ensuring that the original information remains confidential and the final results can be verified.

The same architecture can be fully extended to other collaborative scenarios that require a balance between privacy and verifiability.

Second Round Auction: Limited Scale, Far-Reaching Significance

The second round auction deliberately limits its scale to 2% of the total supply of FOLD. Its purpose is not to replicate the first round auction or to conduct another large-scale fundraising, but to connect the initial token distribution with the transition to full network operation.

The auction starts with the clearing price of 0.02154816 USDC per FOLD established in the first round, maintaining continuity in the launch. The proceeds distribution is as follows: 25% directly injected into the Uniswap liquidity pool, 25% used to supplement additional liquidity, and 50% entering the Interfold Foundation treasury for subsequent protocol development.

This structure clearly points to the next phase of Interfold: broader distribution, easier participation, more abundant liquidity, and a real-time network that allows FOLD to truly address significant issues in the privacy domain.

From Token Release to Network Building

The significance of this moment has already surpassed the auction itself—Interfold is transitioning from "building the protocol" to "operating the network."

This means independent operators are starting to run the infrastructure, developers are building confidential applications, participants are contributing to network processes, and various organizations are using cryptographic computation to collaborate around information that cannot be publicly disclosed.

Network Alpha intends to start from a controllable scale, allowing the ecosystem of node operators, supporting tools, system performance, and application scenarios to gradually evolve in a real mainnet environment.

Protocols can be deployed at a certain moment, but networks need continuous participation to grow.

The second round auction of FOLD and the launch of Network Alpha are the starting points of this journey.

The second round auction of FOLD is now open. Network Alpha is running on the mainnet. Interfold is building the infrastructure for a world where information can remain private while collaboration remains verifiable.

Official Reminder

Users are advised to participate in the auction, claim, transfer, and obtain contract and release information only through official Interfold channels. Any unofficial links claiming to provide access to FOLD tokens, registration, verification, or participation in the auction may be fraudulent, so please be vigilant.

About Interfold

Interfold is a distributed network for confidential coordination. It enables independent parties to generate shared and verifiable results from private inputs without the need for third-party hosting, data exposure, or reliance on trusted hardware.

Interfold supports secret voting, sealed bidding auctions, and other coordination systems that require private inputs to produce verifiable results without relying on trusted operators.
