first_img The cryptocurrency advocacy organization Stand With Crypto announced its first round of endorsements for Senate candidates

According to The Block, the crypto advocacy organization supported by Coinbase, Stand With Crypto, has announced its first round of Senate candidate endorsements. The organization stated that it will endorse Ohio Republican Senator Jon Husted, whose opponent is the crypto-skeptical former Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown. Additionally, it will endorse Ashley Hinson from Iowa and Chris Pappas from New Hampshire. This endorsement comes after the Senate's procedural vote on September 15 failed to pass the Clarity Act, which aims to establish a federal regulatory framework for the industry.Senate Democrats stated that they could not vote for a bill that would allow President Trump to profit personally from the crypto industry. Stand With Crypto's Executive Director Mason Lynaugh mentioned that after the Senate's recent failure to advance the Clarity Act, the organization’s more than 3 million advocates are fully shifting their focus to ensuring the election of candidates who support crypto. In addition to the Senate endorsements, Stand With Crypto also stated that it will increase advertising spending in six House campaigns, including those of Democratic Congressman Don Davis and Republican Congressman Bryan Steil. These newly endorsed House candidates all voted in favor of the Clarity Act when it passed the House last year. The organization has also endorsed more House candidates, including Congressmen Shomari Figures and Mariannette Miller-Meeks.

Liquid Network releases emergency fix: Elements v23.3.4 fixes Proof verification cache vulnerability

Liquid Network has released the latest update stating that the emergency version Elements v23.3.4 is now online. Functionary nodes have immediately begun upgrading and all Liquid node operators are advised to synchronize updates. This version addresses the previously discovered Proof verification cache vulnerability and strengthens the cache keys used for Range Proof.Regarding network recovery, Blockstream states that it is still formulating a recovery plan, which is expected to proceed in three phases: restoring block production while continuing to suspend Peg operations; replaying verified valid transactions; and restoring Peg operations after the network status is fully restored and funds are confirmed to be returned. Currently, the first two phases are being tested in parallel, and any phase will only advance once safety is confirmed. Liquid Network indicates that Elements v23.3.4 has completed multiple rounds of internal and external reviews, with participants including the Bitcoin Red Team, Alpen Labs, and other teams. At the same time, Liquid Network reminds users to be vigilant against fraudulent upgrade websites exploiting this incident. Information should only be obtained through official Liquid Network and Blockstream channels, and users should never send funds to strangers or disclose private keys or recovery phrases.

Coinbase supports the endorsement of 32 midterm election candidates by cryptocurrency advocacy organizations, all of whom support the passage of the CLARITY Act

According to Reuters, the cryptocurrency advocacy organization Stand With Crypto, supported by Coinbase, announced endorsements for 32 incumbent congressional candidates for the midterm elections in November. All 32 candidates voted last year in favor of sending the cryptocurrency industry's top legislative priority, the CLARITY Act, out of the House of Representatives, which is currently stalled in the Senate due to opposition from some lawmakers. The list includes key allies in the cryptocurrency industry such as Republican Representatives Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga, as well as Democratic Representatives Ritchie Torres and Josh Gottheimer, some of whom are facing fiercely competitive races.Mason Lynaugh, Executive Director of Stand With Crypto, stated, "In 2024, we proved that crypto voters are real, and in 2026, we want to demonstrate our organizational mobilization ability; our advocates are a voting bloc that can truly impact outcomes."Stand With Crypto was launched by Coinbase in 2023 to influence elections by mobilizing voters rather than through large-scale campaign spending, and it claims to have over 3 million registered "advocates." In 2024, the cryptocurrency industry invested $170 million to support congressional candidates, most of whom won, and pushed Congress to pass the GENIUS Act for stablecoin regulation. During this midterm election cycle, the cryptocurrency industry has already invested nearly $200 million through channels such as the Fairshake super PAC to continue solidifying its influence in Congress.

Cactus Custody launches institutional-grade self-custody MPC, empowering asset autonomy and compliance security

Cactus Custody announced that its self-custody MPC (Multi-Party Computation) solution is officially launched. As a custody brand under Matrixport, Cactus holds a Hong Kong Trust TCSP license and has served numerous industry-renowned clients such as RedotPay, Fosun Wealth Holdings, and TDTC.As the Web3 industry matures, institutional clients are increasingly inclined to gain autonomy in custody while demanding the robust security infrastructure provided by third-party custodians. Cactus Custody's MPC solution cleverly bridges this gap by combining cutting-edge Intel SGX TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) with an institution-centric risk management engine. The core security cornerstone of the platform is the advanced MPC-TSS (Threshold Signature Scheme). Through this technology, private key shards are independently generated by multiple parties and jointly managed by devices controlled by Cactus and the clients. This architecture effectively eliminates the risk of "single points of failure," ensuring that no party can unilaterally transfer funds, thereby providing clients with absolute asset sovereignty and peace of mind.Cactus Custody CEO Daniel Lee commented, "Our new MPC solution is designed for institutions that prefer to manage assets directly while requiring secure and compliant infrastructure. By providing a compliant, flexible, and secure platform, we empower clients to flexibly and fully autonomously scale their digital asset businesses."
