Nearly four years after Do Kwon was imprisoned, there are still community members steadfastly supporting Terra Luna Classic and looking forward to an "epic revival."

According to Decrypt, although Do Kwon, the founder of Terraform Labs, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for causing the collapse of Terra, which resulted in approximately $40 billion in losses, the abandoned original chain Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) has not disappeared. A group of community members continues to maintain the network, hoping to achieve one of the greatest revivals in the history of the cryptocurrency industry. The report states that a core community member known by the pseudonym "Vegas" lost about $50,000 during the Terra collapse and has since been involved in operating validation nodes, governance proposals, and developer coordination. He expressed that despite facing long-term internal power struggles and fraud accusations, and even being maliciously reported to the authorities, he still believes LUNC has the potential to return to the top ten in the cryptocurrency industry. After the Terra collapse in 2022, Terraform Labs launched a new chain, Terra, through a hard fork, while the original chain was retained and renamed Terra Luna Classic. Subsequently, the community organization Terra Rebels took over the maintenance work and launched a series of proposals, including a 1.2% burn tax, in hopes of revitalizing the ecosystem. However, due to disputes over fund allocation and governance, Terra Rebels eventually disbanded, and several developers left one after another.Despite this, the community continues to advance the development of projects such as lending protocols, games, and meme coins, and attempts to restore the stablecoin peg mechanism. Data shows that LUNC has risen 17.3% in the past year, but has cumulatively fallen 28.7% since 2022, with a decline of 99.99% from its historical high of $119.Some community members stated that the shared trauma after the collapse has formed a bond similar to "family," and that price is no longer the only goal. "What if we could achieve one of the greatest comebacks in cryptocurrency history? It's like a last-ditch pass." said a community member.

first_img Hong Kong Legislative Council member Yau Tak-gun: The potential threat of quantum computing will take at least five more years, and the industry should prepare in advance

ChainCatcher reported live that Hong Kong Legislative Council member (Technology and Innovation sector) Kenneth K.Y. Lau shared a keynote speech titled "Steady and Progressive Development Keeps Hong Kong at Forefront of Web3 Expansion" at the 2026 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival. He reviewed the development of Web3 in Hong Kong since 2022, from the licensing system for virtual asset service providers, the pilot of tokenized products, to last year's Policy Declaration 2.0 and the SFC ASPIRe roadmap, believing that regulatory clarity is the primary condition for the industry's development. He specifically compared the regulatory paths of the United States and Hong Kong, pointing out that although the U.S. has introduced important documents such as the Clarity Act, Genius Act, and the joint statement from the SEC and CFTC, the political situation may lead to legislative delays or even reversals; in contrast, Hong Kong provides a stable, transparent, and continuous development environment in terms of product classification, legislation, and infrastructure. He also mentioned the potential threat of quantum computing to the cryptocurrency industry, believing that at least five more years are needed, but the industry should prepare in advance at the cryptographic level. Finally, he emphasized that Hong Kong needs more technology developers and should promote cross-jurisdictional connectivity to form a positive flywheel for product issuance, investor participation, and innovator entry.

Core member of the Ethereum Foundation, Josh Stark, will be leaving, having led several major upgrades including The Merge

According to The Block, Josh Stark, a key figure at the Ethereum Foundation (EF), announced his resignation after five years and will officially step down at the end of the month. Stark joined the Ethereum Foundation in 2019, initially working in the special projects team, and later rose to leadership, collaborating with EF Chair Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, and co-executive directors Hsiao-Wei Wang and Bastian Aue.He is one of the most prominent members of the foundation's external image and has led several significant advancements in Ethereum, including the "The Merge" upgrade that transitioned from proof of work to proof of stake, as well as subsequent upgrades like Dencun, Fusaka, and Pectra. During last year's leadership adjustments at the foundation, he was appointed as the "co-manager" of the EF board and recently took on the role of co-chair of the "trillion-dollar security" initiative.Last month, Stark co-authored a strategic blog post on Ethereum with Josh Rudolf and Julian Ma, outlining Ethereum's latest scaling direction and its relationship with the Layer 2 ecosystem. Stark stated, "I haven't planned for the future yet; I just want to take a good rest and spend time with family and friends." This resignation occurs against the backdrop of ongoing changes at the Ethereum Foundation.Last year, the foundation underwent significant leadership adjustments, refocusing its strategic priorities on scaling the Ethereum mainnet and core cypherpunk values; Tomasz K. Stańczak also resigned from his co-executive director position at the end of February this year, having served for less than a year. On the same day, Trent Van Epps also announced his departure from EF to fully dedicate himself to Protocol Guild, the independent funding organization for Ethereum core developers that he founded.
