AEX founder Huang Tianwei has been released on bail in Thailand after being arrested due to the platform's collapse, but still refuses to return user funds
ChainCatcher news, according to X user @chaoge_btc, Huang Tianwei, the founder of the AEX (Anyin) trading platform that collapsed in 2022, was released on bail by his family in Thailand at 19:00 on July 3. Since the platform's collapse, only three original large holders have managed to retrieve some of their assets. The platform has been operating since 2013, with users primarily being old OGs in the crypto space, holding a significant amount of user funds. Currently, Huang Tianwei continues to refuse any user requests to withdraw funds.On June 12, AEX founder Huang Tianwei was arrested at the police station in the Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai Province, Thailand.Previously, on July 14, 2022, the crypto trading platform AEX collapsed, shutting down withdrawal functions, citing short-term liquidity issues that prevented it from meeting user withdrawal demands. On July 17, 2022, AEX officially announced, "According to police requirements, we will suspend platform-related services at 15:32 (UTC+8) on July 17, 2022, and fully cooperate with the police investigation. Please wait for further announcements."
